andsome beer, what's all the fuss about?

What is andsome beer all about?

"Annie and I had a dream... to be able to make and serve beer out our very own taproom in the town we now live in and love. Lourinha. That is what andsome beer really is..." said James

What makes andsome beer special?

James grew up in a pub in the UK and was involved very early on (maybe too early) in managing the cellar of this pub. The English 'real ales' that are referred to as 'live beers' need to be treated in a very particular way, James fell in love with the style, taste and has remained so some 30 years later.

The couple come from a chefing background and have over 50 years collectively in the hospitality industry and have always had a passion for food and drink. Quite a few years ago they started brewing beer in Portugal and have never looked back.

"This was the next natural step" said Annie "We want to keep things small scale so we can concentrate on quality over quantity. When it's gone, it's gone"

andsome beer is made without compromise on price and time. The goal is to produce the most exquisite beer possible and lavish it with our time and experience.

How can you try andsome beer?

andosme beer is available in their tap room in Lourinha, here all of the beers are on draught and in bottles subject to availability. There are also a few establishments that stock andsome beer locally. These include:

The Surfers Lodge (Peniche), The Rex Bar (Obidos), Terra a Terra (Lourinha) and Boia Beach Bar (Areia Branca). You can also purchase them on their website.

As well as the eight core range beers that andsome beer currently offers, James and Annie brew a small batch of experimental beer each month which is only sold in the taproom itself.
